Call for Exhibitors

Show Us Your Green-Powered Ideas!

The Ward 7 Solar Coop and DC SUN invite you to participate in what promises to be the most extensive community-based exhibition of green and renewable products, technologies, and services available to DC residents to date — The DC Solar Flare: A Ward 7 Solar Coop & DC Sun Renewable Energy Tech Show.”

When & Where:

It takes place Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM at H. D. Woodson Senior High School, 540 55Th St NE, (off Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue) Washington DC 20019.

Why

Your support will help us manage and promote the event, pay for the use of H. D. Woodson High School and develop a relationship with Woodson’s STEM programs involving solar and renewables.

Our Motivation

The event focus is on helping Ward 7 residents gain access to the benefits of solar -- now more accessible and affordable than ever. Exhibitors will run the gamut from renewable energy trade associations to solar installers and solar job trainers — even EV car demonstrations.

Educational and informational programs will feature clean energy entrepreneurs showing you how to take advantage of green economy business opportunities and green collar jobs. We will run films to change your life, save you money, and help you save the planet. We are expecting thousands to attend.

We're Doing This Again

This is our third event of this type — Mount Pleasant (2009) and Capitol Hill (2010) — but the first east of the Anacostia River. We will promote it online, and in the local print and broadcast media. We will use our experience to attract residents from Ward 7 and citywide interested in the products, technologies, and service that can cut their energy costs, create a sustainable DC, and create local businesses that hire DC residents and put dollars back into DC’s economy.

Who We Are

DC Solar United Neighborhoods (“DC SUN”) represents DC’s 11 solar coops in all eight DC wards. Committed to making solar accessible and affordable to all District residents as an alternative to the soaring cost of fossil fuels, we have introduced community solar legislation that will make it possible help anyone — resident, business nonprofit — with or without a roof subscribe to a solar installations and receive credit for the solar electricity production on their monthly electric bill.
